Search Engine Optimisation for Hull Businesses

Hello and welcome!

I provide SEO services to businesses in Hull and the surrounding area.

For most businesses though - that doesn't mean anything.

So I guess a better description might be:

I help you find new customers, new clients and generate more business profit.

And pretty much the easiest way to do that these days, is through the internet.

Most people find what they are looking for on a search engine - and of course Google is the most popular search engine by far.

However - bear in mind, people are not usually looking for your company - they're searching for a solution to their specific problem.

If their car has just failed it's MOT, and needs new tyres - they won't search for 'Hull Tyres' or 'Endyke Tyres'.

If they already knew where to go, they wouldn't bother searching.

Instead, they'll search for something like 'cheap tyres in hull'..

And then Google will do it's magic, and present them with a list of websites that it thinks gives the user the best information.

How it decides what websites to show in the list of results, is quite complex, but relies on two main factors:

  1. Relevancy - the website has to have relevant content - relevant to the words used in the search.
  2. Reputation - the website has to have a good reputation - the sites with the highest reputation are listed first.
And then of course, the user clicks on those websites they see first, and usually at the top.

So you can see right away that in order for your website to come up high in the search results, you need to have content that is relevant to what people are searching for - if they have a problem you can help them with.

You should use those exact words in your content.

And then - the more tricky part - is to build your website reputation.

Perhaps the most powerful way to do that is thruogh linking - which I write about on the main website here: http://Hull-seo.co.uk/website-reputation/
